I move from Le Havre to Paris, after many attacks by French, Les Rockers, who ransack my flat and cut up my paintings, except one which they steal! In Paris I get some work with French Sculptor Jean-Michel Marchelle, helping to light his work for exhibition. At this time I take up graffiti painting with stencils, only to catch Pleurisy from the car spray paint and return to London, spitting blood. jerome redfarn STENCIL

After a summer of bike dispatch work for Vanguard, I get a job managing Count 8 Video Productions for Tony Askew. Tony also has a Staging Company & a Lighting Company, Studios and Location Vehicles. We mainly stage light and film live shows/events. jerome redfarn TONY Tony's ideas are always very ambitious, e.g. dropping an entire Mexican band from the ceiling on a platform; only on the night the platform descends so fast the Mexican band have to race to the middle of it and arrive in a heap on the floor. On another occasion he builds an enormous replica of the QE2 that would enter the dining hall then split open to reveal a ramp, down which a pianist at a white piano would glide to join the diners; only the braking system failed and instead the pianist and piano go shooting into the hall, taking out the first row of diners. I gain a lot of experience working with Tony, mainly as a Beta SP cameraman, 3 machine Beta SP Editing and Vision Mixing. For 3 years running we film all the London, Paris, and Milan Fashion shows. jerome redfarn FILMING Other output at this time includes Video productions for: Nike Swatch Elle Decor Lancome Productions for TV: Def II for BBC2 Club X for Channel 4 Clothes Show For BBC1 Daily News Reports for Anglia TV
